Blue Mountain Estates

The 28-unit senior community known as Blue Mountain Estates was built in 1982 on the former site of the Smithsburg High School. The community building at Blue Mountain Estates hosts a Senior Nutrition Center operated by the Washington County Commission on Aging, where a noon meal is served weekdays and various educational programs and activities are offered to residents and persons from the surrounding community.

In the rear of each unit, a 6′ x 10′ patio roof keeps rain and unwanted snow away from the doorway.
